Mike Williams


Sheriff Williams began his career at the Montcalm County Sheriff's Office in 1996 as a Road Patrol Deputy. He became Montcalm County's first police dog handler in 1999. He was partnered with K9 Xill from 1999 to 2006 and K9 Rex from 2007 to 2014. He worked as a Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, and was appointed Undersheriff in 2015. He was elected Sheriff in 2016 and took office on January 1st, 2017.

Sheriff Williams graduated from the Oakland Police Academy in Auburn Hills, MI. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University. He has been previously elected to the Central Montcalm Board of Education and the Montcalm Community College Board of Trustees. He has served on the executive board of the United States Police Canine Association Region 19, the Montcalm County Police Officer's Association of Michigan executive board, and is a past president of the Montcalm County Command Officer's Association. Currently, he serves on the Central Dispatch Authority Board, the IMSAFE Child Advocacy Center board, and the Montcalm Community College Foundation board.
