All nine county commissioner seats are up for election this year. Candidates will appear on the August 7, 2018, Primary Election and winners from each party will proceed to the November 6, 2018, General Election.
Below are links to the map and written description of each district, as well as the signature or filing fee requirements to run for office. The filing deadline is Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 4 pm with the Montcalm County Clerk's Office located at 211 W Main Street, Stanton, Michigan. The County Clerk's office will be open to accept filings on the 24th.
Candidate packets, including petitions, can be picked up at the County Clerk's Office. Individuals wishing to pay the $100 filing fee can use the Affidavit of Identity Form (PDF).
All candidates seeking elective office must file a Statement of Organization, even if one is already on file with the County Clerk. If a candidate is seeking re-election an Amended Statement of Organization is required to update information and re-apply for the reporting waiver if the candidate does not intend to receive or expend more than $1,000.
