The General Election will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Polls will open at 7 am and close at 8 pm. Voters are encourage to visit the polls mid-morning and mid-afternoon if possible due to the anticipated large voter turnout. Voters going to the polls during peak times should anticipate that there will be wait times. Any voter that qualifies for an Absentee Ballot and wants to avoid the chance of standing in line may contact their city or township clerk to obtain an absentee ballot.

The MVIC provides voters with a one-stop shopping source or election information. Topics range from registration status to absentee ballots to voter identification at the polls. Polling place maps and sample ballots are also on this site.

Friday, October 28, 2016 at 4 pm is the deadline for write-in candidates to file a Declaration of Intent form for the November General Election under MCL 168.737a. The Declaration of Intent must be filed with the proper filing official for the office the write-in candidate is seeking.
